His expertise spans private equity, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, complex litigation, regulatory structuring, real estate development, and strategic investments, with transactional exposure exceeding USD 1.5 billion across regulated investment and corporate transactions.
He currently leads the enterprise-wide legal, governance, litigation, and risk functions for a diversified conglomerate operating across multiple sectors, including investments, automotive, FMCG, logistics, industrials, technology infrastructure, telecom, banking, aviation, and real estate. Omar established and institutionalized the group’s legal function from inception, transforming it into a centralized strategic platform aligned with business growth, operational scalability, and risk optimization.
In addition to overseeing high-value transactions, joint ventures, restructurings, and investment platforms across multiple jurisdictions, Omar has led the successful handling of extensive litigation portfolios, complex international disputes, and major commercial settlements. He also spearheaded the establishment of Edamah Law, the group’s professional legal services arm, positioning the legal function as a value-generating strategic partner supporting both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Prior to his current role, Omar served at a Category 1 investment bank, where he advised on private equity transactions, international acquisitions, luxury real estate developments, structured finance arrangements, and investment exits across the Middle East, Europe, Turkey, and the United States.
Omar holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Kent, United Kingdom, and is a qualified Legal Advocate registered with the Ministry of Justice & Islamic Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also serves on several boards and executive committees across regional and international entities.
